Donovan Creed

“If Dean Koontz collaborated with Alfred Hitchcock at the circus, this would be their brain child!” –Vintage DM Book Reviews

Lethal People1st Book in Series: Donovan Creed, a former CIA assassin, is a very tough man with a weakness for very easy women. Meet him in LETHAL PEOPLE a relentlessly entertaining crime novel that’s often LOL – bizarre funny! The action is fast and furious, the dialogue smart, savvy and sexy. The story is filled with quirky characters and clever surprises.

Lethal Experiment 2nd Book in Series: What if someone offered you $100,000 with the only stipulation being that a murderer would be killed if you accept the money? Would you take it? The people who choose to take it are about to find out the ramifications of their decisions to be part of this Lethal Experiment! Donovan Creed, former CIA assassin, is a smart-aleck tough guy who can’t resist a noble cause. Despite a ton of baggage and a penchant for call girls, he always finds a way to beat the bad guys. In this sequel to Lethal People, Creed is forced to choose between his thriving contract-killer business, his part in the Lethal Experiment, and his desire to live a normal life with the beautiful Kathleen Gray and her newly-adopted daughter, Addie. Before that can happen, he has to take care of some lethal business involving a former lover. Lethal Experiment is a breezy and fun page-turner, featuring grisly humor, outrageous characters, and sexy dialogue.

Saving Rachel - 3rd Book in Series: What if the best morning of your life suddenly turned into your worst nightmare? Sam Case is about to find out. Saving Rachel is the story of what happens when killers force a man to choose between his wife and his mistress…and the one he rejects must die. But wait–all is not as it appears to be. In fact, nothing is what it appears to be! Saving Rachel is a scary, funny, roller coaster ride through hell, with twists, and turns that will slap your face and suck you in!

Now & Then4th Book in Series: When we last encountered Donovan Creed, former CIA assassin and free lance killer, he had successfully stolen billions of dollars from the world’s most lethal criminals. Now all he wants is a quiet, peaceful, romantic vacation with the very sexy Rachel—no fire ants, bi-polar girlfriends, rabid squirrels, accident prone homicidal maniacs, cannon ball hailstorms, hairless cats, gang bangers, faith healers, or pirates.

Wish List 5th Book in Series: Be careful what you wish for! When Buddy Pancake and his drinking buddies stumble across the Wish List website, they jokingly post their “impossible” wishes. Imagine their surprise when, one by one, the wishes start coming true! But Buddy and his pals neglected to read the fine print explaining the price they must pay for the wishes they’ve been granted. Wish list is a compelling, nail-biting, laugh-out-loud thriller in the tradition of Saving Rachel.

A Girl Like You6th Book in Series: Girl Like You (A Donovan Creed Novel) is the next step in the evolution of hit man and former CIA assassin, Donovan Creed. When Rachel Case goes to the doctor for a routine blood test, scientists are astonished to learn she possesses a gene no one else on earth seems to have—a gene that holds the key to protecting the world from the deadliest pandemic in history. When government operatives kidnap Rachel in order to develop a vaccine, her lover, Donovan Creed, realizes the only way he can find Rachel is to enlist the help of her current husband, Sam. A Girl Like You is “A sure-fire hit!” Another laugh-out-loud thriller in the tradition of Saving Rachel and Wish List.

Vegas Moon 7th Book in Series: In order to save his own life, Donovan Creed signs on as bodyguard to the most famous gambler in Las Vegas history, Jim “Lucky” Peters. Lucky, worth millions, has hit a losing streak and must raise a lot of cash in a short period of time from some of the world’s creepiest people. It doesn’t take long for Creed to learn that the person who holds the key to his survival is none other than Lucky’s smokin’ hot wife, Gwen, who has secrets of her own. Preliminary reviewers term Vegas Moon “Hilarious!” “Uproarious!” “Funniest book in the series!” With Vegas Moon, “Locke hasn’t just hit a home run, he’s hit it over the fence, out of the park, and into the comedy hall of fame!”

The Love You Crave – 8th Book in Series: Former CIA assassin Donovan Creed finds himself at odds with mob-connected Tony Spumoni and practically everyone else he knows, including his boss Darwin, lover Gwen, daughter Kimberly, protégé Callie, co-worker Lou, physician Doc Howard, assorted board members, terrorists, and even a zoo full of angry monkeys!

Preliminary reviews: “I know this makes me appear insane, but all week I’ve burst into laughter at the most inappropriate times because of this book!” “I wanted to stop turning pages, but couldn’t!” “Vintage Locke: lightning-fast dialogue, crazy situations, insane twists and turns, and general craziness!”

Maybe - 9th Book in Series:  When an angry, unemployed chemist unleashes a bio-terrorist attack against women and children, the president of the United States asks Donovan Creed to get involved. It’s just one more thing on Creed’s plate.

Preliminary Reviews: ”I couldn’t put it down. As always, the action, plot, and jaw-dropping surprises hooked me. But what kept me turning the pages is Creed’s quirkiness, and trademark banter. Locke fans are going to love this latest installment in the Creed series.”

“In Maybe, Locke has done something many contemporary authors refuse to do: move the series forward! He ties all the unanswered questions into a nice big bow, just in time for the holidays.”

“Filled with endless surprises, Locke has another sure-fire hit with his newest offering, Maybe.”

I too got hooked on John Locke. I read ‘Rachel’ first then went on to the others. I’m looking forward to the Western series. I think you would enjoy ‘Naked in Detroit’—it’s a very fast paced thriller/ adventure starring a sassy Nordic woman named Frista. Amazon bargain $.99.[[ASIN:B00571NL4E Naked In Detroit]]

Being involved in action sport myself and having my own adventures I don’t have a hero but after reading Donovan Creed it changed. Mr. Locke the next one must be coming soon or else ………

  8. nook owner says:

Apparently, NOOK just took Lethal Experiment out of the “shop.” Does anyone know how to purchase it?? I’ve been reading the series a bit out of order because I, too, stumbled upon these books, but I’ve just got to get that book!

    • janice says:

I couldn’t find Lethal Experiment inB/N either, but did find it for .99 as an Amazon digital book. Downloaded the Kindle app on my phone, bought the book, and enjoyed it as much as I did the first one. Glad the others are still B/N for my Nook. :)

      • Dear Nook Readers,

My company is responsible for publishing John Locke’s books – apologies to all looking for “Lethal Experiment” on the Barnes & Noble website. Some errors had been brought to my attention and I had pulled the book to correct them. “Lethal Experiment” should go back up in the next day or so.

Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for reading!

        ~ Claudia

    • Cheri says:

I had just received my Kindle for my birthday and was looking for a book to buy, just to see how it looks on the Kindle. I purchased Saving Rachel and got hooked. I went in and purchased the rest of the books and just finished Vegas Moon. I still have to read the first two Lethal People and Lethal Experiment.
I can hardly wait to read those two and anxiously await any new (Donovan Creed) books.

  12. April says:

I bought my first Donovan Creed book on my kindle by mistake, I realized it was only .99 and said for that price I will try it and see. I LOVED IT!!!! I have now read all the books and can not wait for the next one. Thank you John for sharing the great adventures with us!

  13. StaciMai says:

John Locke you are a trip! A fantastic writer with a helluva sense of humor. I have not enjoyed a writer as much as I have enjoyed your work (I mean…you know…with these types of stories). You make me laugh out loud and love your characters. Thank you for your voice.

  14. jamie says:

I too bought Saving Racheal to see what to expect downloading to my e-reader, and fell in love. I have since bought all of your novels and will continue. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. I recommend you to everyone who will listen.

  15. Lee ann says:

Thanks for so a fun and easy read. I am a cancer patient so I have to sit often so your books are just right and I enjoy your larger than life characters.

  16. Sandie says:

I actually started reading the Creed series because I got them on my kindle for 99 cents and now I love them and have read them all and cannot wait for the next one. I just started the Emmett Love book and so far have enjoyed it as well.

  17. Wm says:

I have more than 50 books in my current reading list and I can’t seem to get to any of the rest of them because I keep reading the Donovan Creed books over and over and over again!

I actually started with “Vegas Moon” without having read any of the previous books, and I was captivated from the first paragraph. After only a few pages I went immediately back to the Kindle store and bought every other book John has written.

I wish there was a new story every week, but I’ll just have to be patient and keep reading these over and over and over again until there is a new one to add to the mix!

  18. donna taylor says:

Like most people I read the last book first read all books in 3 days. My poor boyfriend had to keep listening to me say just listen to this part. Please hurry and write the next one

  19. Jen says:

Oh No!! I’m starting Vegas Moon today and then what to do!??! I need more Donovan Creed novels!! I can’t put them down!

  20. Tom says:

Just finished Lethal People. Wow! I’m onto my next, Lethal Experiment. Donovan Creed is the most fascinating character to come along in crime/thriller novel in a long time, and I can tell now I’ll eat up any book Mr. Locke writes about Mr. Creed.

  21. Gina says:

I received my kindle on Friday as an early birthday present. I downloaded the first Donovan Creed book and was hooked! I have downloaded all of them and have read 5 of them since Friday! Love the books! Hurry up with the next one!

  22. Lindsay says:

    Mr. John Locke,
I love all your Books! I can not put them down. I hate when I finish one cause I am so into the book it just amazing!!! I never really read books before I started reading yours! I just have to have a book that gets me from the begining! thats what I Love about all your books not a dull moment!!!!!

  23. Marilyn Connell says:

I am an avid reader and have read ALL of your books and love them.

My husband, not much of a reader, is sitting next to me laughing out loud and wiping tears from his eyes (reading Now and Then). He is hooked, too.

We are leaving for vacation on July 7–any chance we can upload a new book on our Kindles?

What will we do if we don’t have another Donovan Creed book to read? Or an Emmett Love?

  24. Ca says:

Love the Creed books! Is Wish List in that series, or is it a stand alone? Look forward to reading more of your books!

  25. Henri Russell says:

I first downloaded and read Vegas Moon and was hooked. Next I read, A Girl Like You…looking at the list, I see now I should have started at the top. But I’m on my way to start from the first to read the other 5 novels. I am very impressed with your writing and the way you pull the reader into the novel from the very first page. That is so hard to find in writers these days. I too am waiting for your next novel because I am sure I will have all the Donovan Creed novels finished in no time. Thank you for sharing your talent at such an inexpensive price to your readers.

  26. CAA says:

Love your books. When can we expect the next installment of the Creed series??

    • brittany says:

I hope soon! I didn’t realize Vegas moon was the last one! :o (

    • Lorenz says:

Actually there seems to be a new one, continuing where Vegas Moon ended. Though I could not yet find it on the homepage (except for the title picture in the upper right corner), but on kindle. It is called “The Love You Crave”.

  27. Arnie R says:

I read the first one on my kindle and liked it so much that I bought all the rest. They have to be the best bargain at $.99 each. Great reads and I had to force myself to go slow and ration them. I have two left and my greatest worry is that I will finish reading them and will have to wait for the next one to be published. Mr. Locke, please write faster.

  29. Whitney says:

Is it rude for me to say I would like you to write faster?! I (like EVERYONE else) started by buying the 99 cent book the Kindle Store recommended. Since, I have read every other book by you I can get my hands on. They are so much more than addicting. Those people have become a strange part of my life! I offically finished the last Emmet Love novel tonight and I (swear I) need more! I just knew there was no way I could enjoy the Emmet Love novels as much as I had the Donovan Creed series- but go figure! Again you surpassed by expectations!

I’m a “series” book reader. And I always read them in order. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love your books! I’m in love with Donovan Creed and when I’m reading the books, I feel like I’m actually in the story. I’m sure I will read them all again, like I have done with only two other author’s series. I’m impatiently waiting for the next to be released!

  32. Cheryl says:

Just finished reading “The Love You Crave” ……… excellent! Can’t wait for the next Donovan Creed book.

Alright…so, I am a lover of fantasy and science fiction, but I’ve also been known to dabble with Robert B. Parker and Ludlum and Tom Clancy. After reading “How I Sold…” I figured i’d give Rachel a shot…you know…try something new and see what all the buzz was about.

I have to say, I loved it. Really loved it. I found that I really didn’t think much about the genre or the story line so much, because i loved the characters, and truly found myself rooting (and laughing) out loud…Kudos John…I’ll be reading more.

  35. Jenn says:

I absolutely love the Donovan Creed books, I got my Kindle in April and downloaded my first book and I have read them all and cannot wait for more to come! These books are so hilarious and I just cannot seem to put them down for a second! :)

Thank you so much for bringing laughter (yes out loud) back into my life after a very tragic year for me. Just thinking about Creed makes me giggle.

When will your next Creed novel be coming out?

  45. J Paterchak says:

On a recent “business” trip to Vegas I decided to use the Kindle app on my cell and I typed in “Vegas”. That was the beginning of the end. I read all of the books in the series within 2 weeks time. I don’t remember reading more than a dozen or so books in my life until Donovan Creed. Great Stuff!

  46. M. Lardman says:

I’m hot on your heals Locke! Just finished Vegas Moon and saw The Love you Crave is out now. Better boogey to get the next one done! Thanks for the awesome reads!

  47. QuantumSam says:

Dear Mr Locke — whom would you prefer play Creed in the TV mini-series/movie? All I can imagine is Bruce Willis. There’s no one else as bad-ass and able to deliver the quips.

  48. Eric says:

Couldn’t put my Kindle down, and now I read all 7. When the next comes out, I’ll buy it right away.

  51. Hi John,

I just discovered your site yesterday and have been looking for a new series to read. I can’t wait to begin reading yours. I don’t have a Kindle, but have a couple of Macs and a Nook. Are you books available in other formats?

    Samantha

    • Musashi says:

I think if you use Adobe Digital Editions you can buy the books on kobobooks.com and read on your Nook.

    • MaryB says:

Download the kindle app onto your computer, Amazon provides it for free, then it automatically creates a library folder on your computer home page. When you buy a digital book, it directly downloads to your computer library folder.

  52. Shelley says:

Kobo didn’t have the Emmett books available and I needed to read it Right Now! So, I downloaded Kindle PC and am reading it right from my laptop. . .not the most comfortable book to hold, but I’ll take it however I can get it at this point. I’m like a junkie for these characters! Just keep them coming and I’ll continue to mainline each of them!

    • Phil says:

Kobo site has also increased prices I notice but you can download all the Creed /Dana Ripper & Emmett Love books on the smashwords.com site in epub format for Kobo

  53. Jon says:

    John,

Any chance you can provide us with an ETA for your next novel in either series. I’m dying to read more of your wonderful work!

  54. Marsha says:

I LOVE your books and LOVED our recent visit to Louisville! Thanks for the restaurant recommendations – fabulous! And lastly, yes, Bruce Willis is the perfect person to portray Donovan Creed!! Keep those books coming – you inspire, humor, and challenge our brains with your novels. You, Mr. Locke, have the magic touch. Congratulations!

  57. Tim Meade says:

John, love the Creed Series. Do you know yet when you are putting out the next Creed book. Really enjoy your work. Steven Segal might be a better choice for creed just because of his mild personality and calmness he portrays. Then on the other hand his way of creating havoc. Waiting on the movies……lol

    • Tais says:

Have purchased and have read ALL of your books, and can’t WAIT for you to cointnue both of your series. Emmett Love and Donovan Creed are both exceptional characters. Please, please, please keep writing!AND, as a voracious reader 3-4 books per week I’d love to read an ARC of an upcoming book!

  83. Paul Byrne says:

    John,

I love your work. I’ve read everything you’ve written. Brilliant. Thank you!

I just finished “Bad Doctor”. Awesome!!! Great character. Makes Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) seem like a annoyingly cheerful boy scout.

I was a Paramedic for many years so I enjoyed the medical setting and can relate to him going a bit crazy. We all did all the stuff he does to clear his head all the time (okay, I’m kidding about that part). Can you include a crazy Paramedic in the next one?

I loved you bringing in Rose, Dani and the other characters from your other books!

Anyway, thanks for the great laughs and crazy twists. I can’t wait for your next book, whichever story line you’re currently working on.

    Best regards
    Paul

  84. AARON HOLDEN says:

    Mr. Locke,
I am a contractor in afghanistan, I have never really been a big reader. Since being here TV is not a big option and video games become monotonous after a while. So I bought a kindle and started reading.
I found your series (donovan creed) and from the time i started I couldn’t stop. I have read other authors since then and haven’t found but 2 others that I like near as much as yours.
I have read the Emmet love series and the Dani Ripper book and I like how Rose is the one thing all three have in common. I am waiting for the next of all three to come out. Thank you for being an awesome author.

    P.S.
