All six of John Locke’s previous Donovan Creed novels have made it to the Top 20 on the Amazon/Kindle Best Seller’s List. His western adventure, Follow the Stone, became the #1 western seven days after publication! He had four different books in the Top 10 at the same time, and seven books in the top 34 at the same time, including #1 and #2.

Book Faerie Review of Saving Rachel

FIVE STARS! “John Locke has a very infectious writing style. He does not disappoint with “A Girl Like You”. There’s plenty of action, mystery, and of course, an adult-dose of humor.”

FIVE STARS! “John’s books are best enjoyed with an open mind and willingness to let the author take you where he intends. Do this and I promise you will become a fan.”

FIVE STARS! “I finished “A Girl Like You” in one sitting; something I never do.”

FIVE STARS! “Five Stars not enough…this is a ten star book!”

FIVE STARS! “John Locke has done it again. I keep thinking that I will read one of his Donovan Creed Books that doesn’t appeal to me…nope. Again I must say John Locke is a wonderful Writer! Run don’t walk to get all of his books. You won’t be sorry.”

FIVE STARS! “Another John Locke book? How fast can I hit that “Buy Now” button?”

FIVE STARS! “As I was reading the comments section in J.A. Konrath blog interview with Mr. Locke, Mr. Locke listed the chronological order of his Donovan Creed books. Lo and behold there was a new novel: “A Girl Like You”. As fast as I could I hit that link to Amazon and bought that sucker. I walked a block to the nearest WiFi hotspot and it was on my Kindle.”

FIVE STARS! “It was so nice to welcome back Mr. Creed that I read the first third of this book during lunch and devoured the rest that evening. Talk about getting your money’s worth! Mr. Locke is now on my top 5 best *living* writers list (replacing the late Robert B. Parker). What a wonderful new author discovery. I haven’t felt this way about a new author since Lee Child.”

FIVE STARS! “I just wish I hadn’t plowed through it all in one afternoon. I couldn’t find a good stopping place so I could set the book down–I just kept reading because I was dying to know what would happen next!”

FIVE STARS! “I have to say that I absolutely love the Donovan Creed series. My crazy love for this series aside, you have to go into it with an open mind. If you are in the category of the easily offended then this may not be the book for you. However if you are in the better category (hehe) of people with a sense of humor it certainly is for you. See how I did that, if you were offended by the last statement you are probably classified as the former. Mr. Locke does an incredible job of putting action, comedy, and a unique sense of romance together in a way that has compelled me to read the entire series in a month. Please go forth and read…”

FIVE STARS! “Best of the Creed series thus far. Marvelous blend of suspense, humor, and snappy dialogue. The novel ended nicely and laid the foundation for the next issue. Can’t wait for Vegas Moon.”

FIVE STARS! “This was an awesome Donovan Creed book! Made me laugh out loud and get a lot of funny looks. I read all 6 books in 7 days they are so good I can’t put them down. Can’t wait for the 7th book!”

FIVE STARS! “I can’t get enough of Donovan Creed!”

FIVE STARS! “I highly recommend “A Girl Like You” and all of John Locke’s books to anyone with a sense of humor and an appreciation of entertaining stories.”

FIVE STARS! “I stumbled upon the Donovan Creed series b/c of the 99cent price. I have to say, it’s a great series and a quick read. I didn’t read them in order and was able to follow along. Donovan is a great character.”

FIVE STARS! “Do you like action? Mystery? Tied up naked people with attitude? Then you are in the RIGHT PLACE!”

FIVE STARS! “Donovan Creed is a character with wide spread appeal….I mean, who doesn’t like a compassionate hit man with a sense of humor?”

FIVE STARS! “Addicting!!!!”

FIVE STARS! “Locke you are the man. What a Great Great series. Keep them coming, Creed makes my reading time fun and most enjoyable.”

FIVE STARS! “I have once again found a writer that has caught and held my attention. I thank you Mr. John Locke. I have actually read all your books except for the western but from the review I am sure I will also purchase it. Your writing keeps me smiling and I like that.”

FIVE STARS! “Another prize book from John Locke. He is a new author for me and I can’t get enough. Funny, fast paced can’t put it down kinda read! Love!”

FIVE STARS! “The old Donovan Creed is back!”

FIVE STARS! “Today is Wednesday 11am. I just finished reading “A Girl like You” after starting it at 8am. I read the first book in the series “Lethal People” on Sunday. So in 4 days I have devoured all 6 of these books. I’ve become a huge John Locke fan in a few short days.”

I had a Sony Touch e-reader for Christmas 2010, how lucky for me that I found John Locke (& Donovan Creed) on kobo.com, I’m loving these ebooks & after looking at this site I’ve still got books 6th & 7th in the series to add to my collection, oh happy days.

I absolutely love the Donovan Creed series! I have not ever been so involved in reading until I read my first John Locke book a month ago. I am anxious to know when the next book will be out! Great books greatly written!

Jonathan Locke is my new favorite author. I got my Kindle for Valentines day and I saw Lethal People at Amazon for $.99 and bought it thinking if I didn’t like it I only wasted less than a dollar. I started reading and could not put it down and finished it that day and bought all the other books and read that also. I also read his Emmett Love books and loved them. I didn’t think I would like Westerns but this book was very entertaining. Now, I am waiting for his new book. Hopefully it is soon.

Thank you so much for writing “How I Sold 1 Million ebooks in 5 months!” I loved it – very helpful information and inspiring. Your sincerity shines through and your sense of humor leads us through a “how-to” book. I wondered how you did it as my husband and I have been reading the Donovan Creed series and waiting for that 1 million mark. Congratulations! Now I’m reading “Follow the Stone.” Great literature for a old Texan cowgirl wannabe. Keep writing – you’re a fantastic storyteller.

I read your book on how to successfully market yourself an independent author. I found it inspiring! Your confidence and enthusiasm are infectious. Then, there is the strategic plan! I have already started to implement your suggestions in marketing my own novel, Scarab. Well done John. You are an inspiration to us all.

  6. I read your book this afternoon and I think it’s going to be very helpful to me. Thank you.

I thought that writing my children’s ebook was going to be the easy part and getting people to read it would be the bugger part. Thanks so much for the road map that has taken alot of the pressure off. Now I am approaching its marketing with anticipation!

    John;

Just read “How I sold a Million…”, last night. Best fin I ever spent! Congratulations on your success, and your book. You don’t mince words. It’s great.

I’m one of your target audience. Just listed my first ebook, “The Bridge to Caracas”, (the wild story of my life), this week. Close to finishing the sequel. What the hell! There was 325 million dollars left over after “The Bridge…”, so I thought I’d tell the world what happened to the money.

Having done the above, I’m still nowhere, but your book is a super roadmap.

If I can ever find the time, I want to read your other books.

    Many thanks,

    Steve Douglass.

The Donovan Creed series is a great read! It was hard to turn my Kindle off as I worked my way through the series. Now on to the Westerns. Keep em coming!

    Dear John,

Just wanted to say “thanks” for being my introduction into the world of fiction reading. I had never even considered reading fiction in my whole life being the more practical-minded book worm, reading about what now seems to be the most boring of topics. Usually get rich schemes or looking for an new angle on some this or that. In fact, I first learned about John Locke from a webinar touting your success in kindle publishing (not that I could ever write anything people would actually read). This of course led me to purchase your “How to” book on the subject, and begin reading. So intrigued by what you had accomplished, I decided I simply HAD to try one of these Donovan Creed thrillers to see what all the hoopla was about! Now a few weeks later, I have purchased and read ALL of the Donovan Creed books, and cannot wait for the next one! You are VERY good at what you do my friend. And what an imagination! The characters are so real to me I sometimes wonder if they aren’t based on real people! I really enjoy some of the zingers as they are LOL funny! I am usually a slow reader and not great at comprehension…but I raced thru these books with ease, and I’d be willing to take a Donovan Creed exam right this minute! There’s an idea…how bout a Donovan Creed Trivia site? That’d be fun for all your fans out here…and would keep us sharp until the next book comes out.

Anyway, thanks again for the great series! Some of the best fun I have had in years.

Just read the posting from Dennsi Reacher. I bought the book last week. I endorse his comments 100%. Using famous people who are struggling with a life-limiting illness to sell more books is sick.

I hope your 10,000 followers wake up to the fact that they are being carefully and cruelly manipulated.

  19. I do not even know the way I ended up right here, however I thought this put up was once great. I do not recognise who you’re but definitely you’re going to a well-known blogger for those who aren’t already. Cheers!

  20. Fred van't Ent says:

I’ve read all types of John’s books now, a Donovan Creed novell, Follow the Stone with Emmett Love, his ‘how to sell’ book and his new Dani Ripper book. One ingredient unites them: they are funny and entertaining!

To be honest, I don’t like everything John Locke writes. Donovan is just not my kind of series and Dani Ripper is also not my cup of tea. The humor in those series is great, it just doesn’t do it for me. Emmett, for me, is just my thing, since it’s such dry, old school gun-slinger action with a guy surrounded by women, a true friend, where men still worried about getting clean water and food instead of Ipads and game consoles. Thats so refreshing! I basically like all the characters in those Emmett Love books: giving back some magic to Westerns, thats what it feels like.

His ‘how to sell’ book gave me an insight into why I would probably never be a famous writer myself, since I am too scared investing so much money into myself. John Locke did have that guts and belief in himself. John is also someone who seems to have 30 hours in a day! He really answers his fans, takes time for them, if only a brief e-mail, he just seems to be that kind of person. Being successfull doesn’t slow that down.

All in all I really recomment his books. John Locke seems to, above all, be a nice person: you simply want him to do well. A definite recommendation from Amsterdam, the Netherlands!
